FOR FUTURE UPWARD BOUND STUDENTS:
Upward Bound is a college prep program administered by Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. We serve 9-12th grade students exclusively at Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School and we’re here for you! CLICK HERE for a video about the program.
UPWARD BOUND…
Helps students successfully graduate high school and pursue the college/career of their choice
Meets after school Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. when school is in session. (Students will have access to all programming and services virtually for the first semester of the 2020-21 school year.) Students receive homework help, tutoring, personal development workshops and college and career guidance at these meetings.
Assists students with college, financial aid and scholarship applications
Provides college and cultural field trips and a summer enrichment program at Cincinnati State
Pays a stipend for weekly attendance and good grades (2.5+ GPA)
Is completely FREE for students and their families, thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Education!

Upward Bound Summer Program:
From 2019: This summer, Sixteen Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School students attended a four-day College Tour throughout Kentucky and Tennessee with Cincinnati State Upward Bound! Students visited Northern Kentucky University, Berea College, Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Belmont University, Vanderbilt University and the University of Louisville. While in Nashville, students visited The Parthenon, heard live music by up and coming artists and visited the Civil Rights Room at the Nashville Public Library.
Students are members of Upward Bound, a college prep program administered by Cincinnati State Technical and Community College that exclusively serves Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School students and families. In addition to the Summer Enrichment Program and college and cultural field trips, students attend a weekly after-school program with access to homework help, tutoring, personal development workshops and college and career guidance. All resources and opportunities are FREE for students and their families.
