3rd Annual Pigs, Pizza, and Poetry Event: A Night of Literacy and Community Spirit Last week, Mt. Healthy School District celebrated its 3rd Annual Pigs, Pizza, and Poetry event at Tikkun Farm, marking yet another successful year of promoting literacy and community engagement. The event aimed to bring the community together for an evening of poetry recitals, delicious pizza, and a chance to interact with farm animals, all while highlighting effective strategies for teaching literacy. With 141 individuals attending, including students, families, and staff members, the event was filled with spectacular poetry performances, engaging literacy activities that complement classroom learning, and memorable encounters with farm animals such as chickens, alpacas, and puppies. Participants also had the opportunity to enjoy roasting marshmallows for s'mores. We are thrilled with the overwhelming success of this year's Pigs, Pizza, and Poetry event. It was wonderful to see our students and their families deeply engaged in literary activities and bonding over shared experiences. The event wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and support of the staff, families, and community members who contributed to its success.
