Simmons was also a Division 1 signee to Furman University and won several conferences for track and field since 2011. He has remained an integral part of the Mt. Healthy community, returning to the school as a coach, mentor, and resource officer.

Diyral Briggs was a standout athlete in both basketball and football. He led his team to an undefeated season in 2003 and was named Most Popular Senior in the class of 2004. After graduating, Briggs played football at Bowling Green State University, where he earned two First-Team All-MAC honors and later became a Super Bowl Champion in 2010. He is an inspiration to students as he shares his story of overcoming adversity and choosing the right path in life.

He set numerous records, including the single season and career strikeout records, single season and career ERA records, and single season and career win records. Smith was a team MVP and an All-City selection during his senior year, and he went on to play semi-pro baseball for a couple of years. Smith is described as a team-first player who led by example and made those around him better.
