Picture of the Football Showcase

The Mt. Healthy City School District was buzzing with excitement as the football program prepared to host over 100 major college football coaches at their stadium last Thursday morning.

The day had been a year in the planning and started early at 5am. The hard work paid off when 113 college coaches from 87 different universities arrived to watch the young football players in action. This was a major opportunity for the players to earn full college football scholarships and showcase their talents to some of the biggest universities in the country.

Coach Stevens emphasized the importance of this showcase for the football program, the community, and the school district as a whole. He was thrilled to see that the players had lived up to the expectations and had impressed the coaches with their respect, leadership, and encouragement from start to finish.

As the day progressed, multiple players earned scholarship offers, with two earning their first scholarship offer. The team now has 8 college football players and five Division I college football players, with nearly 80 full scholarship offers between them. This was a generational change for the football program and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches.

Coach Stevens also gave a huge shoutout to six young ladies who ran the entire event with integrity, presence, respect, and love. Kerra Brewster, Angel Coates, Grace Young, A’niyah Terrell, Asenna Davis, and Jeriah Strickland had worked tirelessly to ensure that the coaches had a great experience, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. The coaches praised their hospitality and professionalism, and they were an essential part of the success of the showcase.

Coach Stevens expressed his gratitude for the support of the community and the school district while also thanking everyone for their patience and sacrifices on this busy day. Coach Stevens recognized that this was an opportunity of a lifetime for the young men on the team.
