Mt. Healthy City Schools Hires New Executive Director of Student Services

Mt. Healthy City Schools welcomes Dr. Apollos Harris as the newly hired Executive Director of Student Services. As a proven leader and extensive background working with at-risk and special needs students, he easily steps into his role in connecting with the students and families in Mt. Healthy.  As Dr. Harris continues to assess the needs and environment of the district, he will be looking to “identify areas which can be strengthened and improved to ensure that our students find success.”

Dr. Harris comes to Mt. Healthy City Schools from Dayton Public Schools where he was Associate Director in the Office of Exceptional Children. Additionally, he has been an Intervention Specialist as well as the Program Coordinator of the Intervention Specialist Program at Central State University. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education through Grambling State University. He earned both his Masters of Education and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Cincinnati.  Furthermore, Dr. Harris earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration and Educational Leadership through The Ohio State University. Dr. Cosby, Superintendent of Mt. Healthy Schools explained, “Dr. Harris is a man of few words, but I already see his commitment to all of the students in Mt. Healthy. We are pleased to have him as part of the Mt. Healthy City Schools.”
