Jazz Band Coffeehouse Concert
....The high school jazz band will perform in their annual Jazz Band Coffeehouse concert 6:30 p.m. May 8 at the American Legion Post 513 in Mt. Healthy, 7947 Hamilton Avenue. Admission is $2. Refreshments will be sold at minimal cost: coffees, soft drinks, desserts.

Achievement Testing
....Districtwide Achievement Testing for grades 3-8 will be April 28-May 9. Get plenty of rest. We can do it!

Progress Reports
....Fourth quarter mid-term progress reports will be sent home May 2.

Teacher Appreciation Week
....If you can read this, thank a teacher. Appreciation Week is May 5-9.

A Work of heART
....Owners of the Creative Cottage are hosting a special art show called A Work of heART that will feature the art work of elementary students in the Mt. Healthy City School District.
...Missy and her husband Brian Sauer, a 1989 Mt. Healthy graduate, will host the show from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. May 23 at their store at 7426 Hamilton Ave. It will feature two pieces of art from four of Mt. Healthy's participating elementary schools (Jane Hoop, Greener, Frost and New Burlington Elementary). For $100, local business owners can lease a piece to display in their business for a year. The art is then returned to the artist. A meet-the-artist reception will begin at 6 p.m., with refreshments being served. Funds raised will cover the costs of matting, framing and invitations to the art show. Any additional funds will be donated back to art programs at the local schools. Alumni Fundraiser
.....Hungry for pizza? Now you can fill your tummy and help the Mt. Healthy Alumni Assocation at the same time. Diners who eat between 5-8 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month atCiCi's Pizza, Brentwood Plaza, will have 10% of their bill donatedto the Alumni Association, courtesy of the restaurant.

Become A Mentor
.....Mt. Healthy City School District needs volunteers to mentor elementary students in reading and writing. A weekly 30-minute commitment is required; or be part of a mentoring team and come once a month. The Mentoring Program begins Sept. 4. To volunteer, call coordinator Linda Urso at 385-8127.
