....Mt. Healthy's . mentoring program pairs a student in need of help in reading or math with a community member who wants to make a difference in a student's life. .....Mt. Healthy's mentoring program is part of the Ohio Reads Grant and is one of several programs in our Continuous Improvement Plan. After one full year, results have shown an average growth of one year in reading levels.

.....This extra attention and encouragement students receive from our special volunteer mentors has proven to be a success. But our need for mentors is great, with so many children parked on waiting lists for a caring, faithful adults who can offer just 30 minutes a week. .....Linda Urso, a retired Mt. Healthy school teacher who oversees the program for the district, has matched 155 children with about 387 mentors. She's striving to increase the number of mentors to 500! Help her reach that goal.
