Mt. Healthy ELL Services District Overview
Mt. Healthy English Language Learners (ELL) services support development of students’ English language skills and ensure access to grade level academic content for all students. Students qualify for ELL services until they reach a high level of English skills, not only in speaking and listening, but also in reading and writing. Our goal is to prepare multilingual students for the rigors of a Mt Healthy education, working with them to participate effectively in classes and develop proficiency in English.
MTHCS offers a variety of instructional services to ELL students. Current practices include: pull out literacy and English language development groups, push in supports, individual tutoring, support classes and afterschool homework clubs. Every student is assessed for language proficiency level. We serve students ranging from beginner to advanced at every grade level.
